Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use the SwipeBin app or buy SwipeBin Pro. By using SwipeBin you agree to them. The most important point comes first: SwipeBin deletes photos only when you confirm, and a confirmed deletion is your decision.
1. Who we are
SwipeBin is provided by 2026 J2DIGITAL (Pty) Ltd, trading as SwipeBin, registration number 2026/636581/07, of 18 Sandown Road, Unit D12 Montego Bay, Cape Town, Western Cape, 7441, South Africa ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@sweepbin.app.
2. Your photos and deletion
Deleting photos and videos is permanent, apart from any recovery your phone itself offers. Please read this section.
- Swiping left marks an item. Nothing is deleted until you review your marked items, confirm, and then approve your phone's own deletion prompt.
- You decide what to delete. SwipeBin never deletes anything automatically and never pre-selects anything for deletion.
- On iPhone, deleted items go to Photos' Recently Deleted album and can be recovered from there for about 30 days. If iCloud Photos is on, deleting an item also removes it from iCloud and your other devices. That is how Apple's Photos works, not something SwipeBin controls.
- On Android, items deleted through the system prompt are removed from your phone's storage. Copies held by a separate backup service are managed by that service.
- After you confirm, SwipeBin cannot bring an item back. Please keep a backup of anything you can't afford to lose.
The space-freed figures SwipeBin shows are counted after the deletion, from what actually left your phone. Where a figure is an estimate, the app marks it with "~".
3. Your licence to use SwipeBin
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use SwipeBin on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with these terms and the rules of the store you downloaded it from.
4. The free allowance and Pro
The free allowance
The free version includes a daily number of swipes (currently 100). The allowance resets once a day at 00:00 UTC, and the app shows when in your local time. Undoing a swipe returns it to your allowance. Reviewing, un-marking and deleting items you have already marked never uses up swipes. We may change the size of the free allowance in future, and will update this page when we do.
SwipeBin Pro
- Pro is a once-off purchase that removes the daily swipe limit. It is not a subscription and it does not expire.
- It is bought inside the app through the App Store or Google Play. The price is shown in the store before you pay, and the store's own payment terms apply to the purchase.
- Pro is linked to the store account you bought it with. You can restore it on another device that uses the same store account with "Restore a previous purchase" in the app. A purchase made on the App Store can't be moved to Google Play or the other way round.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. We can't issue store refunds ourselves, but if something is wrong, contact us and we'll help.
5. Accounts
SwipeBin creates an anonymous account automatically so you can start without signing up. You may add an email address to sign back into the same account later. You are responsible for keeping access to that email address, because the one-time sign-in codes we send go there.
If you uninstall SwipeBin without adding an email, your anonymous account can't be recovered.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- interfere with, overload or try to gain unauthorised access to our servers or other users' data;
- get around the free daily allowance or the Pro entitlement by any means other than buying Pro;
- copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, except where the law expressly allows it; or
- use SwipeBin in any way that breaks the law.
We may suspend accounts used to abuse the service.
7. Privacy
Your photos and videos never leave your phone. Our Privacy Policy explains the small amount of information we do process, and your rights under POPIA. It forms part of these terms.
8. Intellectual property
SwipeBin, its name, logo, design and software belong to us or our licensors. Your photos and videos remain entirely yours. We never receive them and claim no rights in them.
9. Changes to the app
We keep improving SwipeBin, so features may change. We will not remove the unlimited swiping you paid for with Pro while we continue to offer the app. We may stop offering SwipeBin in future. If we do, we will give reasonable notice where we can.
10. Warranties
We work hard to make SwipeBin reliable and honest, and we test the deletion path carefully. However, to the extent the law allows, SwipeBin is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that it will work with every device, operating system version or photo library. This does not affect any warranty you are entitled to by law (see section 12).
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for the loss of photos, videos or other content that you chose to delete, because every deletion requires your review and your confirmation;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss; and
- our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for SwipeBin Pro, or R500 if you have not bought Pro.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be limited.
12. Your consumer rights
If you are a consumer in South Africa, you have rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 that these terms do not take away. If you live elsewhere, the mandatory consumer laws of your country also continue to apply. Where anything in these terms conflicts with those rights, those rights win.
13. Additional terms for the App Store version
If you downloaded SwipeBin from Apple's App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. In addition:
- We, not Apple, are solely responsible for SwipeBin and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for SwipeBin.
- If SwipeBin does not meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for SwipeBin.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims relating to SwipeBin, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If a third party claims that SwipeBin infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, except where these terms say otherwise.
14. Ending these terms
You can stop using SwipeBin at any time by uninstalling it. You can ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy. We may end or suspend your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Subject to any consumer's right to bring proceedings where they live, disputes will be heard by the courts of the Western Cape, South Africa. Please contact us first: most problems can be fixed with an email.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app or on this page before it takes effect. Continuing to use SwipeBin after that means you accept the updated terms.
